Possible Causes
Blocked air vents causing overheating, Failed or stuck relay on main PCB, Faulty NTC sensor reading too high, Failed thermal fuse or thermostat partially opening under load
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Surfaces and internal parts may be very hot.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is at least 10 cm clearance around all sides and the rear of the air fryer. Remove any obstructions from the rear and bottom vents. Clean dust and grease from vents with a soft brush.
- Clean internal air path: Remove the basket and drawer. Inspect the cavity for heavy grease buildup around the fan shroud and heater guard. Clean with a non‑abrasive degreaser and a soft cloth, ensuring no liquid enters the electronics.
- Inspect thermal cut‑out: Access the heater assembly and locate the thermal fuse or bimetal thermostat clipped to the heater bracket. Check for signs of overheating or discoloration. If the thermal fuse is open (no continuity), replace it and investigate ventilation issues.
- Sensor check: Verify the NTC sensor is firmly attached to its mounting point and not hanging loose, which can cause incorrect high readings. Replace if readings are erratic.
- Persistent E3: If the unit overheats quickly even with clean vents, the heater relay on the main PCB may be sticking closed. This is a safety‑critical fault; replace the main control PCB or consult a qualified technician.
