Possible Causes
Open heating element, Blown thermal fuse in heater circuit, Loose spade connector on heater, Burnt track or relay on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool.
- Check basic operation: Start a cooking program and listen: if the fan runs but no heat is produced and E5 appears, suspect the heater circuit.
- Access heater terminals: Remove the cover to reach the heating element connections. Ensure all spade connectors are tight and free of corrosion. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Test continuity: With the heater disconnected, measure resistance across the element. An open reading (OL) indicates a failed element; replace the heating element assembly.
- Inspect thermal fuse: Locate the inline thermal fuse or high‑limit thermostat in series with the heater. Test for continuity. If open, replace with the same temperature and current rating and check for underlying overheating causes.
- PCB relay check: If the heater and fuse are good, the heater relay or triac on the main PCB may not be switching. Look for burnt solder joints or damaged components. Replace the main control PCB if faulty.
