Possible Causes
Partially blocked convection fan, Warped or damaged fan blades, Heavy grease buildup on heater guard, Faulty temperature sensor placement or reading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and let the fryer cool completely before cleaning or disassembly.
- Step 1 – Basic cleaning: Remove basket and drawer. Clean the heater guard and surrounding area with a soft brush and degreaser-safe cloth. Built-up grease can disrupt airflow.
- Step 2 – Check fan and guard: Look up at the fan and guard. Ensure no foil, parchment, or food is lodged in the guard. If accessible, remove the guard and clean both sides thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Inspect fan blades: With the unit unplugged and cover removed, inspect the convection fan blades for warping or missing sections. Replace the fan motor assembly if blades are damaged.
- Step 4 – Sensor check: Verify that the NTC sensor is properly clipped in its bracket near the heater and not hanging loose, which can cause incorrect temperature regulation.
- Step 5 – User technique: Ensure you are not overloading the basket and that you shake or turn food as recommended in the Moulinex manual for even results.
