Possible Causes
Overheating triggering thermal cut-out, Loose mains connector or internal spade terminal, Failing main PCB power supply, Defective door/basket switch intermittently opening
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Repeated overheating can damage internal components.
- Step 1 – Ventilation check: Ensure the fryer has adequate clearance and is not used under cabinets. Clean all vents of dust and grease.
- Step 2 – Basket switch test: Start a cycle and gently wiggle the basket handle (without pulling it out). If the unit cuts off, the basket switch or actuator may be loose or worn and should be inspected and replaced.
- Step 3 – Inspect internal connections: Remove the cover and check all spade terminals on the mains input, thermal fuse, heater, and PCB. Tighten or crimp any loose connectors.
- Step 4 – Thermal cut-out: Locate the thermal cut-out on the heater shroud. If it is a self-resetting type, frequent trips indicate poor airflow or a failing fan. Clean and verify fan operation; replace the fan motor if weak.
- Step 5 – PCB replacement: If all mechanical causes are ruled out, the main PCB may be intermittently failing under heat and should be replaced.
