Basket is difficult to insert or remove; it jams or scrapes against the housing.

Safety first: Allow the fryer to cool before forcing the basket.

• Step 1 – Clean rails: Remove the basket and drawer. Clean the side rails and bottom support surfaces inside the fryer to remove burnt-on food.
• Step 2 – Inspect for warping: Place the basket and drawer on a flat surface to check for warping. Replace if they do not sit flat.
• Step 3 – Check rails: Inspect the internal metal or plastic rails for bending. Gently straighten minor bends with pliers, taking care not to crack plastic.
• Step 4 – Latch mechanism: Examine the basket latch and handle assembly for cracks or misalignment. Replace the handle/latch kit if damaged.
