Possible Causes
Broken basket latch hook, Worn latch spring, Misaligned basket rails, Damaged basket detection switch actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the fryer before inspecting the latch area.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: Examine the basket handle and latch hook. Look for cracks, missing pieces, or a weak spring.
- Step 2 – Test latch action: With the basket out, operate the latch by hand. It should move smoothly and spring back. If not, replace the latch/handle assembly.
- Step 3 – Check actuator alignment: Insert the basket slowly and observe where it contacts the internal switch actuator. If the actuator is bent or broken, replace it.
- Step 4 – Replace parts: Install a new basket handle/latch kit or actuator bracket as needed, using original Moulinex parts.
