Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main PCB, Moisture ingress into touch panel, Failed touch sensor board, Firmware communication fault on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before opening the control panel area. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.

  • Step 1 – Power cycle: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug back in. Sometimes E8 is cleared by a full reset.
  • Step 2 – Dry the panel: If the panel was recently cleaned with a wet cloth or spray, leave the unit unplugged in a dry, warm room for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate. Do not use the fryer until the panel is completely dry.
  • Step 3 – Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the top/front cover to access the control panel. Locate the flat ribbon cable connecting the touch panel to the main PCB. Reseat both ends carefully, ensuring they are fully inserted and locked.
  • Step 4 – Check for corrosion: Examine the connectors and the touch board for signs of corrosion or liquid damage. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush if minor; replace the panel if heavily damaged.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty board: If reseating and drying do not resolve E8, replace the touch control panel assembly. If the issue persists even with a new panel, the main control board may need replacement.
