E9 error code appears and the unit shuts down or will not start; sometimes accompanied by a burning smell previously.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer. Internal power supply circuits are connected directly to mains voltage and can be lethal. Only qualified technicians should test live circuits.

• Step 1 – External checks: Verify the wall outlet with another appliance. Inspect the power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
• Step 2 – Inspect mains connector: Remove the rear/bottom cover to access the mains input. Check that the mains filter board and connectors are firmly seated and not burnt.
• Step 3 – Visual PCB inspection: Examine the main control board for bulging capacitors, burnt resistors, or cracked solder joints around the power supply section.
• Step 4 – Component-level repair: If you are not trained in electronics repair, do not attempt to replace individual power components. Replace the entire main control board assembly with a genuine Moulinex part.
• Step 5 – Reassemble and test: After replacing the PCB, reassemble all covers before plugging in. Test with a short cooking cycle while monitoring for abnormal smells or noises.
