Possible Causes
Warped or damaged cooking pot, Cracked nonstick basket, Overfilled basket with high-fat foods, Missing or damaged drip tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the unit to cool before handling hot grease. Use oven mitts when removing the basket.
- Step 1 – Inspect basket and pan: Remove the basket and pan. Fill the pan with a small amount of water and check for leaks at seams or corners.
- Step 2 – Check for warping: Place the pan on a flat surface to see if it rocks. Warped pans may not seal properly with the basket.
- Step 3 – Use drip tray: Ensure the crisper plate or drip tray is installed correctly to catch grease and prevent it from pooling at the edges.
- Step 4 – Avoid overfilling: Do not exceed the MAX fill line, especially with fatty foods that release a lot of grease.
- Step 5 – Replace damaged components: If cracks or permanent warping are found, replace the basket or pan with genuine Ninja parts.
