Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Failed fan tach sensor, Loose fan motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool. Moving parts and sharp fan blades can cause injury.
- Step 1 – Listen for fan operation: Start a cook cycle and listen closely. If you do not hear the usual fan noise before E06 appears, the fan is not starting.
- Step 2 – Check for obstructions: With the unit unplugged, look through the top or rear vents with a flashlight. If you can see the fan, check for foreign objects or heavy grease buildup that could block rotation.
- Step 3 – Gentle rotation test (if accessible): If you can safely reach the fan blades with a non-metallic tool (like a wooden skewer), gently nudge the blades to see if they spin freely. Do not force them.
- Step 4 – Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the housing to access the fan motor. Inspect the motor connector at the control board and at the motor itself. Ensure wires are secure and not burnt.
- Step 5 – Replacement: A fan that is stiff, noisy when spun by hand, or completely seized will need replacement. Operating without a working fan is unsafe and will trigger overheat conditions.
