Possible Causes
Worn basket switch actuator, Loose microswitch mounting, Deformed basket front, Excessive play in drawer rails
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before adjusting or bending any mechanical parts.
- Step 1 – Insert basket firmly: Push the basket fully in until you feel and hear a positive click.
- Step 2 – Check for wobble: Gently move the basket front up/down and side-to-side. Excessive play can cause intermittent switch contact.
- Step 3 – Inspect actuator tab: Look for a worn or shortened plastic tab that presses the internal switch. If worn, the basket may not reliably engage the switch.
- Step 4 – Tighten switch mount (advanced): Open the housing and tighten any loose screws holding the basket switch in place.
- Step 5 – Replace worn parts: Replace the basket or switch if they cannot reliably maintain contact.
