• Confirm fan operation: Start a cook cycle and listen for the fan. If the fan runs but no heat is felt at the exhaust after a few minutes, suspect the heater circuit.
• Visual inspection: Remove the basket and look at the heating element. Check for obvious breaks in the coil or heavy burn spots.
• Access heater wiring (advanced): With the unit unplugged and cover removed, inspect the heater terminals and wiring harness. Tighten any loose spade connectors and look for burnt wires.
• Test heating element: Disconnect one heater lead and measure resistance across the element with a multimeter. An open reading (OL) indicates a failed element.
• Check thermal fuse: Locate the thermal fuse in series with the heater. Test for continuity; if open, replace with the same rating.
• Control board relay: If the element and fuse test good, the heater relay on the main control board may not be closing. Board replacement is typically required.
