Oster air fryer displays E7 and will not start; sometimes occurs after a power outage or surge.

Safety: Always unplug the fryer before opening the housing. Do not operate the unit on generators or unstable power sources.

E7 is often related to abnormal input voltage or internal power supply issues.

• Check outlet: Plug another appliance (like a lamp) into the same outlet to confirm proper power. Avoid using long or undersized extension cords.
• Try a different circuit: Move the fryer to a known-good outlet on a different circuit to rule out house wiring issues.
• Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If damaged, replace the power cord with an Oster-compatible cord of the same rating.
• Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the control housing to access the main board. Check the line and neutral connections for tightness. Look for a burned MOV (surge suppressor) or charred components near the power input.
• Replace main board: If components on the power supply section are visibly damaged or if E7 persists despite good line voltage, replace the main control board.
