How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel. Avoid using sharp tools on the touch surface.
E9 suggests the main board is losing communication with the touch panel.
- Clean the surface: Wipe the touch panel with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to seep into the edges.
- Dry out moisture: If the panel was exposed to steam or heavy cleaning, let the unit sit unplugged in a dry area for several hours.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove screws securing the control housing. Carefully open it to access the ribbon cable. Reseat the cable at both the touch panel and main board ends.
- Check for cracks: Examine the touch panel PCB for cracks or corrosion at the connector. If damaged, the entire touch panel assembly must be replaced.
- Replace touch panel: Install an Oster-compatible touch control panel if reseating the cable does not resolve E9.
