Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on control board, Damaged power cord, Faulty power switch (if equipped), Loose line or neutral connection at main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the fryer before any disassembly. If you smell burning or see melted plastic, discontinue use and consider professional service.
- Check outlet and breaker: Test the wall outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breaker or GFCI.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, frays, or kinks. If damaged, replace the cord with an Oster-compatible power cord of the same rating.
- Try a different outlet: Avoid power strips and extension cords; plug directly into a wall outlet.
- Internal fuse check (advanced): Remove the housing to access the main control board. Look for a small glass or ceramic fuse near the power input. Test continuity with a multimeter. If blown, replace only with the same type and rating.
- Check wiring connections: Verify that line and neutral wires are firmly attached to the board terminals and not discolored or burned.
- Board replacement: If the fuse is good and power is present at the board but the unit remains dead, the main control board is likely faulty and should be replaced.
