How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and let it cool. Do not reach into the heater area while the unit is plugged in.

Listen for fan: During operation, you should hear a steady fan noise. If silent, suspect a fan issue.
Check for obstruction: Remove the basket and inspect the fan through the heater guard for food debris or warped plastic contacting the blades.
Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan with a non-metal tool. If it binds or grinds, the motor bearings may be failing.
Access fan motor (advanced): Remove the rear/bottom cover to reach the fan motor. Inspect wiring and connector for damage.
Replace fan motor: If the motor is seized or tests open with a multimeter, replace it with an Oster-compatible convection fan motor.
Control board: If the motor is good but never receives power, replace the main control board.

Oster air fryer heats but the fan does not run; food burns on top and cooks unevenly.
