Possible Causes
Damaged nonstick coating causing gaps, Warped inner tray not sealing properly, Overfilled basket with excess oil, Cracked basket or tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Hot grease can cause burns. Allow the unit to cool before cleaning up spills.
- Check fill level: Do not exceed the maximum fill line. Avoid adding large amounts of liquid or oil directly to the basket.
- Inspect tray and basket: Remove the basket and inner tray. Look for cracks, warping, or missing nonstick coating that could allow liquids to seep through.
- Ensure proper assembly: Confirm the inner tray is seated correctly in the basket and that any drip shield is in place.
- Replace damaged parts: If the basket or tray is cracked or warped, replace with Oster-compatible replacements.
- Clean regularly: Wipe up spills from the bottom of the cavity to prevent buildup and smoke.
