Possible Causes

Loose fan blade on motor shaft, Debris caught in fan, Worn fan motor bearings, Loose mounting screws on fan or heater bracket

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the fryer before attempting to remove debris or tighten screws.

  • Identify noise source: Run the fryer briefly and listen to determine if the noise comes from the top (fan area) or elsewhere. Then unplug.
  • Inspect fan area: Remove the basket and look up at the fan and heater guard. Remove any loose food pieces or foil using tongs.
  • Check fan blade: With the unit unplugged, gently wiggle the fan blade. If it is loose on the shaft, tighten the retaining nut or screw if accessible, or replace the fan blade.
  • Access mounting hardware (advanced): Remove the rear/bottom cover to reach the fan motor bracket and heater assembly. Tighten any loose screws or nuts.
  • Replace motor: If the noise is due to rough or worn bearings and persists after cleaning and tightening, replace the fan motor assembly.
