Possible Causes
Old grease trapped under heater shield, Food residue in hidden crevices, Melted plastic inside cavity, Overheated insulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before cleaning.
- Deep clean: Remove basket and pan. Clean all accessible interior surfaces with warm soapy water on a cloth. Do not immerse the main unit.
- Run burn-off cycle: After cleaning and drying, run the air fryer empty at a high temperature for 10–15 minutes with good ventilation to burn off residual odors.
- Check for plastic: Inspect for any melted plastic or packaging that may have contacted the heater and remove carefully.
Warning: If the odor is chemical or electrical and does not improve, internal components may be damaged and require service.
