Possible Causes
Moisture under touch panel, Damaged capacitive touch PCB, Loose ribbon cable between UI board and main board, Firmware glitch in control logic
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel or front fascia.
Resolution steps:
- Power cycle: Unplug for 10–15 minutes to allow the control to fully reset. Plug back in and test.
- Drying: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid, leave the unit unplugged for several hours in a dry environment to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Ribbon cable check: Remove the front panel and inspect the flat ribbon cable between the display/touch PCB and the main board. Reseat both ends and ensure the locking tabs are engaged.
- Inspect UI PCB: Look for corrosion, cracks, or burn marks on the user interface board. Replace the control panel PCB if damaged.
- Firmware: Some Philips models may support firmware updates via service tools only. If the hardware is fine but E6 persists, professional service may be required.
Warning: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel; apply to a cloth first to avoid moisture ingress.
