Possible Causes

Seized or obstructed fan, Failed fan motor, Loose fan connector on main board, Fan driver circuit failure on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. The fan and heater area can be very hot after use.

Steps:

  • Check for obstructions: Remove the basket and pan. Look up toward the fan through the heater guard. Ensure no food pieces or foil are stuck in the fan blades.
  • Spin test: With power disconnected, gently rotate the fan blades with a non-metallic tool. They should spin freely without grinding. If stiff or jammed, remove debris or replace the fan motor assembly.
  • Electrical check: Access the fan motor wiring. Verify the connector is firmly seated on the main board and that wires are not burned or pinched.
  • Continuity/resistance: Measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace with the correct Philips fan motor for your model.
  • Board driver: If the motor is good but does not receive voltage when the unit should be running, the fan driver circuit on the main board may be defective and the board will need replacement.

Warning: Never operate the air fryer with a non-functioning fan; this can cause severe overheating.
