Possible Causes
Loose or damaged communication cable between boards, Oxidized connectors, Faulty main control board, Faulty user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening the housing.
Steps:
- Reset: Unplug for 10 minutes and reconnect. If E8 clears temporarily but returns, suspect an intermittent connection.
- Inspect cables: Open the unit and locate the harness or ribbon cable linking the main control board to the display/touch board. Reseat connectors and check for bent pins or damaged insulation.
- Clean contacts: If there is visible oxidation, gently clean connector contacts with electronic contact cleaner and allow to dry fully.
- Board substitution: If possible, test with a known-good UI board or main board. Replace the defective board identified by substitution or by visible damage.
Warning: Avoid pulling on cables; always grip connectors to prevent damage.
