  • Inspect the latch: Check the plastic latch tabs on the drawer and the mating slot on the body. If a tab is broken or worn, the switch may not be actuated.

  • Access the switch: Remove the side or front panel near the drawer opening (varies by model) to locate the small microswitch that detects basket insertion.
  • Check alignment: Manually press the switch lever and listen for a distinct click. Ensure the drawer latch tab lines up with the switch lever when closing.
  • Test continuity: With a multimeter, test the switch in both pressed and released positions. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
  • Inspect wiring: Confirm the switch wires are firmly connected to the control board and not pinched or broken.

Reassemble and test: After repairing or replacing the latch or switch, reassemble the housing and test by starting a short cook cycle.
