Display shows E8 and the unit will not power on or shuts off immediately after pressing start.

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer. Do not open the unit if you are not comfortable working around mains voltage components.

External checks:

• Outlet test: Verify the wall outlet with another appliance. Avoid using long extension cords or power strips; plug directly into a grounded outlet.
• Power cord: Flex the cord gently near the plug and at the entry to the unit while plugged in (without operating). If the display flickers, the cord or internal connection may be failing.

Internal checks (advanced):

• Access power entry: Remove the rear or bottom cover to expose the power cord entry, line filter, and power supply section of the control board.
• Inspect connections: Ensure the cord strain relief is secure and the cord wires are tightly screwed or soldered to the input terminals. Look for discoloration or burnt marks.
• Check fuses: Some models include a replaceable fuse on the power board. Test with a meter and replace only with the same rating if open.
• Board inspection: Look for bulging capacitors, cracked solder joints, or burnt components in the power supply area. These signs indicate the board should be replaced.

Note: Because the power supply handles high voltage, board-level repairs should be left to professionals. Most users should replace the entire control/power board assembly.
