Possible Causes
Child lock function enabled (on models with lock), Unresponsive Start key on touch panel, Faulty user interface PCB, Basket not detected by safety switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the control panel.
Steps to resolve:
- Check for child lock: On models with a lock icon, press and hold the lock or Start button for 3–5 seconds to disable the lock. Refer to the Princess manual for your model.
- Verify basket insertion: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket until it clicks. The safety switch must be engaged.
- Test other keys: If only the Start key is unresponsive, the touch panel membrane may be damaged. If multiple keys fail, suspect the user interface PCB.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front panel and reseat the ribbon cable between the UI and main PCB.
- Replace UI assembly: If reseating does not help, replace the touch control / user interface PCB.
