Possible Causes

Open-circuit NTC sensor on heater housing, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose connector on main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely before opening any panels. Never work on a live appliance.

Steps to check and address E1:

  • Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes E1 is triggered by a transient fault.
  • Inspect sensor wiring: Remove the basket and drawer. Access the top or rear cover (depending on model). Look for a small wired probe (NTC sensor) clipped near the heating element or air outlet. Check for broken, pinched, or burned wires.
  • Check connectors: Locate the sensor plug on the main control PCB. Reseat the connector firmly. Look for corrosion or discoloration on the pins.
  • Test the sensor: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure the NTC sensor at room temperature. Typical values are 50–200 kΩ depending on model. If the reading is infinite (open) or extremely high, the sensor is faulty.
  • Replace if faulty: If wiring is intact but E1 persists and the sensor tests open, replace the NTC temperature sensor assembly with a compatible Princess part. Route the new sensor exactly as the original and secure it with the same clips.

If you are not comfortable opening the unit or using a multimeter, contact a qualified appliance technician.
