Possible Causes
Damaged touch control membrane, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Loose ribbon cable between UI board and main PCB, Faulty user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing the control panel.
Steps to troubleshoot E8:
- Dry the panel: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid, leave the unit unplugged for 24 hours to allow moisture to evaporate. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel in the future.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel to access the touch control panel and its ribbon cable. Reseat the cable on both the UI board and main control PCB.
- Check for damage: Look for cracks in the glass/plastic panel, corrosion on connectors, or burn marks on the UI PCB.
- Test button response: After reassembly, plug in and test each button. If some or all keys remain unresponsive and E8 persists, the UI assembly is likely defective.
- Replace UI assembly: Install a new touch control / user interface PCB assembly compatible with your Princess model. Transfer any decorative fascia as needed.
