Possible Causes
Blocked air circulation around heater, Fan motor running slowly or intermittently, NTC sensor shorted or contaminated with grease, Faulty overheat protection circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely.
Steps to address H2:
- Ensure airflow: Verify that the air fryer is not pushed against a wall and that all vents are clear. Remove any items stored on top of the unit.
- Clean heater and sensor: Remove the basket and pan. Carefully clean the heating element and sensor area with a soft brush and degreaser-safe cloth. Avoid soaking the interior.
- Check fan speed: Start a short cycle and listen for the fan. If it sounds weak, intermittent, or noisy, the convection fan motor may be failing and causing localized overheating.
- Inspect sensor wiring: Access the sensor and wiring. Look for melted insulation or wires touching hot metal surfaces.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace a contaminated or shorted NTC sensor or a failing convection fan motor. If both are good and H2 persists, the main control PCB may require replacement.
