Possible Causes

Temperature sensor wires shorted together, Moisture or oil contamination on sensor connector, Melted sensor insulation near heating element, Failed control PCB reading sensor as short

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool fully. Do not attempt to run the unit with the cover removed.

Steps to resolve E2:

  • Visual inspection: Remove the basket and drawer. Access the internal components from the bottom or rear (depending on model) by removing screws. Locate the cabinet NTC sensor near the heater or exhaust.
  • Check for shorts: Inspect the sensor leads for melted insulation or bare wires touching each other or the metal chassis. Separate any touching wires and re‑insulate with high‑temperature heat‑shrink or tape.
  • Clean the connector: Disconnect the sensor plug from the control board. Wipe off any oil, grease, or moisture. Let it dry completely and reconnect firmly.
  • Measure resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across the sensor leads. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted.
  • Check harness routing: Ensure the harness is not pinched between panels or pressed against the heating element shroud.
  • Control board diagnosis: If the sensor tests normal but E2 persists, the main control PCB may be misreading the sensor. Replacement of the board is recommended and should be done by a technician familiar with Pro Breeze air fryers.

Warning: Do not operate the air fryer with a known sensor fault; overheating and fire hazards are possible.
