Possible Causes

Blocked air intake or exhaust vents, Failed or stuck thermal fuse/thermal cutoff, Faulty NTC sensor reading too high, Control board overtemperature logic fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Surfaces and internal parts may be very hot.

Steps to address E3:

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer is placed on a hard, flat surface with at least 10 cm (4 in) clearance around all sides and above. Clear any obstructions from the rear exhaust grill and bottom intake vents.
  • Clean grease buildup: Remove the basket and drawer. Clean the interior, especially around the heating element and fan guard, to remove baked‑on grease that can trap heat. Use a soft brush and mild detergent; do not spray water directly into the heater area.
  • Inspect thermal fuse: Access the internal components from the bottom or rear. Locate the thermal fuse/thermal cutoff usually clipped to the heater bracket or wiring harness. Check for discoloration or signs of overheating.
  • Test thermal fuse (if accessible): With a multimeter, test continuity across the thermal fuse. If it is open (no continuity), it has blown and must be replaced with the same temperature and current rating.
  • Sensor check: Inspect the NTC sensor near the heater for correct mounting. A sensor that has fallen away from the hot zone may misread temperature. Reattach it securely with the original clip or bracket.
  • Reset and test: After cleaning and verifying airflow, reassemble the unit, plug it in, and run at a low temperature to test. If E3 returns quickly, the control board or sensor calibration may be faulty.

Warning: Never bypass a thermal fuse or safety thermostat. Doing so can cause fire or severe damage.
