Possible Causes

Protective oils on heating element, New plastic components heating for first time, Inadequate initial cleaning

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure good ventilation during initial uses. If the smell is extremely strong or accompanied by smoke, stop use and inspect.

Steps to reduce new‑appliance odor:

  • Initial cleaning: Wash the basket and drawer with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  • Burn‑in cycle: Run the air fryer empty (or with a small amount of water in the drawer if recommended) at 180–200°C for 10–15 minutes, then let it cool. Repeat 2–3 times.
  • Ventilate: Operate near an open window or under an extractor hood during the first few cycles.
  • Inspect interior: If the smell persists beyond several uses, inspect for any plastic parts touching the heater or signs of overheating and replace affected parts.

Warning: A persistent burning plastic smell may indicate a defect; contact Pro Breeze support if unsure.
