Possible Causes
Loose heater terminal, Partially burnt connector, Degraded heating element, Undervoltage due to failing power supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool before opening.
Steps to troubleshoot weak heating:
- 1. Compare performance: If preheat or cooking times have increased significantly compared to when new, suspect partial heater failure.
- 2. Access heater terminals: Remove the cover to expose the heating element connections. Look for discolored or partially melted terminals.
- 3. Tighten and clean: Remove any burnt connectors and replace them with high-temperature-rated terminals. Tighten all heater screws.
- 4. Measure heater resistance: Check the element resistance and compare to specifications. A significantly higher resistance than normal can reduce power output; replace the element if out of spec.
- 5. Inspect power supply: Check the main PCB for signs of overheating in the power section. If the board cannot supply full voltage to the heater, replace the PCB.
- 6. Test cooking: Reassemble and run a test with a known recipe to confirm normal cooking times.
Warning: Do not continue using the unit if connectors are visibly burnt; this can lead to arcing and fire.
