Possible Causes
Misaligned basket detection microswitch, Broken basket latch tab, Failed reed or Hall sensor for basket detection, Loose wiring to basket sensor on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting internal switches or sensors.
Steps to resolve E11:
- 1. Check basket insertion: Remove the basket and drawer, then firmly reinsert them until you hear or feel a click. Ensure nothing is blocking the rails or latch.
- 2. Inspect latch and tabs: Examine the front of the basket/drawer for broken plastic tabs or deformed latch components that engage the internal switch. Replace the basket assembly if the latch is damaged.
- 3. Access the switch/sensor: Remove the front or side cover to locate the basket detection device—this may be a small microswitch, reed switch, or Hall-effect sensor near the basket opening.
- 4. Test the switch: Manually press the microswitch lever or place a magnet near a reed/Hall sensor (if used) while checking continuity with a multimeter. The switch should change state when actuated. If it does not, replace the switch or sensor.
- 5. Check wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the main PCB and ensure the connector is secure. Look for broken or pinched wires.
- 6. Reassemble and test: After replacing or adjusting the switch, reassemble the housing and test by inserting the basket and starting a short cycle. The E11 code should clear when the basket is detected correctly.
Warning: Do not bypass the basket detection switch; it is a safety feature that prevents operation with the drawer removed.
