Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Proscenic air fryer immediately. Do not repeatedly reset the breaker or continue trying to run the unit, as this may worsen the damage.
Steps to investigate E4:
- 1. External check: Inspect the power cord and plug for cuts, burn marks, or melted areas. If damaged, the cord set must be replaced before further use.
- 2. Check the outlet: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to confirm the outlet is working and not loose. Avoid using extension cords or power strips.
- 3. Access internal wiring: With the unit unplugged and cooled, remove the bottom cover. Visually inspect all wiring harnesses from the power inlet to the main PCB and from the PCB to the heating element and fan.
- 4. Look for shorts: Identify any wires with melted insulation, exposed copper touching metal, or connectors that appear burnt. Repair by replacing damaged wires or harnesses; do not tape over severely damaged conductors.
- 5. Inspect the heating element: Check the heating coil for breaks that may have arced, or areas where the coil has contacted the metal chassis. If the element is deformed or shows burn-through, replace the heating element assembly.
- 6. Examine the main PCB: Look for blown components, burnt traces, or bulging capacitors. A visibly damaged board must be replaced as a complete assembly.
- 7. Reassemble and test cautiously: After replacing any suspect parts, reassemble the unit fully. Plug into a properly grounded outlet and run a short test at low temperature while monitoring for abnormal smells or sounds.
Warning: If you are not comfortable working around mains voltage wiring, contact a qualified appliance technician. Internal shorts can cause electric shock or fire.
