Display shows E9; unit may not power on fully or may shut off shortly after starting.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting internal wiring. Mains voltage is present inside the unit.
Steps to address E9:
- 1. Check the outlet: Plug the air fryer into a different, known-good outlet without an extension cord or power strip. Avoid sharing the circuit with high-load appliances.
- 2. Inspect the power cord: Examine the cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Gently wiggle the plug while the unit is on (if safe) to see if power cuts in and out, indicating a loose connection.
- 3. Access internal power connections: With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover. Locate the power inlet, EMI filter (if present), and the main PCB power input terminals.
- 4. Tighten connections: Ensure all screw terminals and push-on connectors at the power inlet and PCB are tight and fully seated. Look for discoloration or heat damage.
- 5. Inspect the power supply section: On the main PCB, visually check the AC-DC converter area (transformer, rectifier, capacitors) for bulging capacitors, burnt components, or cracked solder joints. Replace the main PCB if damage is evident.
- 6. Test operation: After reseating connections, reassemble and test. If E9 persists and other appliances work fine on the same outlet, the internal power supply is likely failing and the main control board should be replaced.
Warning: Do not attempt live voltage measurements inside the unit unless you are trained and equipped to work safely with mains electricity.
