Possible Causes

Open heating element, Failed heater relay on control PCB, Blown thermal fuse in heater circuit, Loose heater wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before inspection.

  • Confirm fan operation: If the fan runs but there is no heat, the issue is likely in the heater circuit.
  • Visual check: Look at the heater coil through the top guard during operation (briefly). If it never glows red at high temperature, the element may be open.
  • Access heater: Remove covers to reach the heater terminals and wiring.
  • Check connections: Tighten any loose spade connectors and inspect for burnt or melted insulation. Replace damaged connectors with high-temperature-rated ones.
  • Test heater resistance: Disconnect one heater lead and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed heating element that must be replaced.
  • Check thermal fuse: Locate the inline thermal fuse near the heater. Test continuity; replace if open with the correct temperature rating.
  • Control PCB relay: If heater and fuse are good, the heater relay on the control PCB may not be switching. Replacement of the PCB is usually required.
