Possible Causes
Failed capacitive touch panel, Damaged keypad membrane, Loose keypad connector, Liquid ingress into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the air fryer before working on the control panel.
- Dry out panel: If the panel was recently wiped with a wet cloth or exposed to steam, leave the unit unplugged for 24 hours in a dry environment and retry.
- Inspect front panel: Check for cracks in the glass/plastic touch surface or signs of liquid under the panel.
- Open control housing: Remove screws around the control panel and gently lift it to access the touch panel / keypad PCB and its connector.
- Check connector: Ensure the keypad ribbon or plug is fully seated on the main PCB. Reseat it to clear any poor contact.
- Look for corrosion: If there is visible corrosion or residue on the keypad PCB, clean carefully with isopropyl alcohol. Severe damage will require replacement.
- Replace keypad/touch panel: If specific buttons never respond or E10 persists, replace the complete touch control panel assembly for your Russell Hobbs model.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the panel, ensuring no wires are pinched, and test all buttons and functions.
