E5 error on display; unit may beep and refuse to start heating.

Safety: Unplug the air fryer and wait until it is completely cool.

• Visual inspection: Remove the basket and look up at the heating element. Check for visible breaks, burn spots, or sagging coils.
• Access heater terminals: Remove the rear/top cover to reach the heater connections. Look for discolored or melted spade connectors and heat-damaged wiring.
• Tighten/clean connections: If connectors are loose, remove, clean with fine emery paper, and refit firmly. Replace any burnt connectors with high-temperature-rated spade terminals.
• Continuity test of heater: Disconnect at least one heater lead. Measure resistance across the heating element. A typical air fryer heater will show a finite resistance (often 10–40 Ω). If it reads open (OL), the heating element is faulty and must be replaced.
• Replace heating element: Remove mounting screws or brackets holding the heater. Fit a genuine or compatible Russell Hobbs heating element assembly, ensuring correct orientation and secure mounting.
• Check control PCB relay (advanced): If the heater tests good but E5 persists, the heater relay on the control PCB may be defective. Look for burnt solder joints or relay damage. Replacement of the control PCB is usually required.
• Reassemble and test: Refit covers, ensure all earth/ground wires are reconnected, and test with a short preheat cycle.
