- Clean interior: Wash the basket and drawer with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
- Burn-in cycle: Run the air fryer empty at 200°C for 10–15 minutes, then allow to cool. Repeat once if necessary.
- Ventilate: Keep windows open or use an extractor fan during burn-in to disperse odors.
- Monitor: If the smell persists after several uses or smells like burning plastic/electrical, stop using and inspect for actual overheating issues.
