Basket will not lock in place; unit reports door/basket open or will not start.

Safety first: Unplug before inspecting the latch area.

• Inspect latch components: Examine the basket handle and latch tab for cracks or missing pieces. Replace the basket if the latch is broken.
• Check for obstructions: Look inside the latch recess for crumbs or debris preventing full engagement. Clean thoroughly.
• Actuator alignment: Verify that the latch tab lines up with the internal microswitch actuator. If misaligned, adjust the switch bracket or replace worn parts.
• Test switch manually: With the unit unplugged and cover removed, press the switch by hand and listen for a click. If it does not click or fails continuity tests, replace the microswitch.
