Possible Causes
Severely clogged rear air filter (if fitted), Grease buildup on fan blades reducing airflow, Obstructed rear or side vents, Failing fan motor running below rated speed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and let the fryer cool before cleaning or accessing the fan area.
- Clear external vents: Move the fryer away from walls and objects. Ensure all rear and side vents are unobstructed.
- Clean air filter: If your Sage model has a removable rear filter, take it out and wash it with warm soapy water. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Clean fan and heater area: Remove the basket and carefully brush away grease and crumbs from the heater and visible fan blades. Do not bend the blades.
- Check fan operation: Start a short cycle and listen for consistent fan speed. If the fan surges, slows, or squeals, the motor may be failing and should be replaced.
- Service if persistent: If E10 recurs after thorough cleaning and ensuring good ventilation, have the fan motor and thermal protection system checked by a technician.
