How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
- Clean the panel surface: Wipe the touch surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove grease and residue. Dry thoroughly and test again.
- Check for cracks: Inspect the glass or plastic touch surface for cracks or impact damage. Physical damage usually requires replacement of the entire UI panel.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front panel and verify that the touch panel ribbon is firmly seated on both the UI board and main board. Reseat if necessary.
- Dry out moisture: If the panel was exposed to steam or spills, allow it to dry completely for 24 hours before retesting.
- Replace UI panel: If E9 persists and the ribbon is intact, replace the touch control panel assembly, which includes the touch sensor and controller.
