Air fryer overheats, burning food even at normal settings; exterior may feel excessively hot.

Safety first: Unplug immediately and allow to cool. Do not continue using an air fryer that overheats; fire risk is significant.

• Check for blocked vents: Ensure all vents are clear and the unit has adequate space around it.
• Inspect sensor: Access the heater area and verify the NTC sensor is intact, not coated in thick grease, and not shorted against metal. Clean gently and reposition if necessary.
• Test sensor resistance: Measure at room temperature and compare to expected values. Replace if readings are far off or unstable.
• Check heater relay: With the unit unplugged, inspect the heater relay on the PCB. If contacts are welded closed, the heater may stay on continuously. Replace the main control PCB.
• Thermostat check: If a mechanical thermostat is used, test for proper opening at high temperature (requires controlled heating and is best done by a technician). Replace if stuck closed.
• Do not bypass safeties: Never bypass thermal fuses or thermostats to "fix" overheating; always replace with correct parts.
