Possible Causes

Blocked air inlet or exhaust vents, Failed or slow-running circulation fan motor, Faulty thermal fuse or thermostat not opening correctly, Grease buildup on heater and temperature sensor causing false high readings

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Surfaces and internal components can be extremely hot.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer has at least 10 cm clearance on all sides and that the rear and bottom vents are not blocked by walls, foil, or other appliances.
  • Clean the heater area: Remove the basket and drawer. Using a soft brush and a slightly damp cloth, clean grease and food debris from the heating element, fan guard, and visible sensor probe. Do not spray cleaner directly into the unit.
  • Inspect the fan: With the unit unplugged, look up at the fan through the top grill. Spin the fan blades gently with a plastic tool; they should move freely without scraping. If stiff or obstructed, remove the cover and clear debris. If the fan motor is seized or noisy, replace the fan motor assembly.
  • Check thermal cut‑out: Access the heater assembly and locate the thermal fuse or bimetal thermostat mounted on the heater bracket. Inspect for discoloration or signs of overheating. If the thermal fuse is open (no continuity), replace it with the same temperature and rating.
  • Reset and test: After cleaning and any part replacement, reassemble, plug in, and run at a lower temperature (e.g., 160°C) to confirm stable operation without E3.
