Possible Causes
Open‑circuit heating element, Burnt spade connector on heater terminals, Broken high‑temperature wiring to heater, Faulty heater relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before opening the case.
- Access heater terminals: Remove the outer housing to expose the top heater and fan assembly. Identify the two heavy‑gauge wires connected to the heating element.
- Check connections: Inspect the spade terminals for discoloration, burning, or looseness. Clean light oxidation with fine emery cloth and crimp or replace loose terminals.
- Test the heating element: Disconnect at least one heater wire and measure resistance across the element with a multimeter. Typical values are between 10–40 Ω. If it reads open (OL), the element is failed and must be replaced.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the heater wires back to the PCB, checking for heat damage or breaks. Replace any brittle or burnt high‑temperature wire with equivalent high‑temp cable.
- Check heater relay: On the main PCB, locate the heater relay. Inspect for burn marks or cracked solder joints. If the relay is visibly damaged or does not click when a cycle starts (with the unit reassembled and powered), the PCB or relay must be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing the heating element or repairing wiring, reassemble the unit and run a short test at 180°C to confirm heating and that E6 no longer appears.
