Possible Causes
Shorted heating element, Pinched or bare wires touching chassis, Moisture inside electrical compartments, Failed component on main PCB causing short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset breakers; risk of fire. Unplug the unit and leave it unplugged until inspected.
- Visual inspection: Open the housing and look for obvious signs of burning, melted insulation, or moisture.
- Check heater resistance: Disconnect heater wires and measure resistance. A very low resistance (near 0 Ω) or continuity to chassis indicates a shorted element; replace the heating element assembly.
- Inspect wiring harness: Look for pinched wires where the housing joins, especially near corners and screw points. Repair or replace damaged sections.
- Dry moisture: If the unit was exposed to spills or steam, allow it to dry thoroughly for at least 24–48 hours before retesting.
- PCB short: If the breaker trips even with heater disconnected, the main PCB or power input components may be shorted; replace the PCB.
