Air fryer powers on but immediately shows E5 and does not start cooking.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing panels. Do not bypass safety switches for normal operation.

User-level checks:

• Remove the basket and reinsert it firmly until you hear or feel a click. Some Samsung air fryers require the basket to be fully seated to close the internal safety switch.
• Inspect the basket rails and side guides for debris or bent metal preventing full insertion. Clean and straighten as needed.

Switch inspection:

• With power disconnected, remove the side or bottom panel to access the door/basket micro switch near the front of the unit.
• Manually press the switch lever and listen for a distinct click. If it feels mushy or does not click, the switch may be defective.
• Check the plastic actuator tab on the basket or frame that engages the switch. If broken or worn, the switch will not be triggered.
• Test the switch with a multimeter for continuity when pressed and released. Replace if readings are inconsistent.

Corrective action:

• Replace a faulty door/basket micro switch with a high-temperature-rated equivalent specified for Samsung air fryers.
• If the actuator tab is broken, replace the basket assembly or the front frame component that includes the actuator.
• Repair or replace any damaged switch wiring harness and ensure connectors are fully seated on the main PCB.
