Possible Causes

Shorted heating element, Shorted fan motor, Damaged power supply section on main PCB, Internal wiring short to chassis

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately if you smell burning or see smoke. Do not attempt to power it on again until inspected.

Visual inspection:

  • Remove the cover and inspect all internal wiring for melted insulation, burn marks, or contact with sharp metal edges.
  • Examine the main control PCB for burnt components, especially in the power supply and relay areas.
  • Inspect the heating element and fan motor for visible damage or signs of arcing.

Electrical checks:

  • With a multimeter, test resistance across the heating element terminals. A very low resistance (near 0 Ω) may indicate a short.
  • Test the fan motor for shorts between terminals and to chassis ground.
  • Check continuity of the line and neutral wiring to ensure there are no shorts to the metal chassis.

Corrective action:

  • Replace any shorted heating element or fan motor with Samsung-approved parts.
  • Repair or replace any damaged wiring harness, securing wires away from sharp edges and hot surfaces.
  • If the main PCB shows burnt components or blown tracks, replace the main control PCB. Due to fire risk, this repair is best performed by a qualified technician.
