Possible Causes
Open heating element, Blown thermal fuse near heater, Loose heater spade connectors, Failed heater relay on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool completely before accessing the heater area.
- Check basic settings: Confirm that a temperature above ambient is selected and that the timer is running. Some models require pressing start twice.
- Inspect heater connections: Remove the top or rear cover to access the heating element. Ensure both heater terminals are firmly connected and not oxidized.
- Test thermal fuse: Locate the small cylindrical or disc‑shaped thermal fuse attached to the heater bracket. Test for continuity with a multimeter. If open, replace with the same temperature and current rating.
- Measure heater resistance: Disconnect the heater leads and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit indicates a failed heating element that must be replaced.
- Check relay operation: Listen for a click when starting a cycle. If no click and the heater tests good, suspect the heater relay or control PCB.
Warning: Never bypass the thermal fuse; it is a critical safety device.
