Possible Causes

Loose mains plug or socket, Intermittent internal fuse or thermal cutoff, Cracked solder joints on main PCB, Overheating of power components on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug before opening the housing. Allow the unit to cool.

  • Check external connections: Ensure the plug fits tightly in the outlet. Try a different outlet to rule out a loose wall socket.
  • Inspect cord strain relief: Wiggle the cord gently near the entry point while the unit is running (if safe to do so). If power cuts out, the cord or internal connection is faulty and must be repaired.
  • Examine PCB solder joints: Open the housing and inspect the underside of the main PCB, especially around the mains input, relay pins, and large components. Reflow any cracked or dull joints.
  • Check thermal cutoff: A marginal thermal cutoff may open prematurely. Test continuity when cold and after heating (if you have proper tools). Replace if intermittent.

Warning: Do not continue using the appliance if power loss is accompanied by burning smells or visible arcing.
